Imagine the excitement when I first realized you can use the power of an air fryer to make crab cakes. I literally had to pinch myself. Pun clearly intended.
So before you judge me for not using my own crab cake recipe to test my air fryer theory regarding crab cakes, put yourself in my shoes. I was shopping for wings at the local grocery store and BLAM! There they were. A box of Phillips Maryland Crab Cakes. ”To the air fryer!” I exclaimed with initial excitement, and the rest is history.
Phillips Maryland Style Crab Cakes require no preparation. Here’s my settings (and a few almost mandatory add-ons):
- Preheat Air Fryer 375 Degrees
- Set Timer 17 Minutes
- 1 Handful Shoestring Fries
- 1 Box Phillips Crab Cakes
- Creamy Horseradish Sauce
- Old Bay Seasoning
Please note time and temp will vary depending on your air fryer. Also, remember to remove shoestring fries when turning crab cakes, roughly 10 minutes in.
I’ve tried Phillips Crab Cakes a number of different ways: baked, fried, microwaved (yuck!), you name it. But none of those cooking methods comes close to the texture, flavor and quality achieved when using an air fryer to make ‘em.
Voila! There ya’ go! Maryland crab cakes simply made simple. Pinch yourself because these are the real deal. There I go again using crab puns. Well, I’m not gonna’ stop seasoning these articles with delicious hilarity anytime soon.
